Day 27 Prague to Paris

There isn't much to report today. We had a leisurely 3 course breakfast.
We were  just thinking how full we were when they brought out hot freshy baked croissants which we were unable to resist. Feeling uncomfortably full we rested on our beds & I finished packing.
We checked out of our hotel - definitely would recommend Hotel Golden Crown
- and crossed the road to the metro station.
We caught the metro to the end of the line where there is a bus to the airport.
All this was covered by our 3 day travel pass that we bought on arrival....a very good deal!
Checked in via kiosk & went straight to bag drop off. No queues anywhere and it all seemed too easy. We did have a couple of hours to kill at the airport but there was unlimited free wifi for Cam & plenty of shops for me to browse. I managed to use up all our currency....but didn't buy anything of note. Just a tiny blue vase, Czech crystal earrings & more food for Cam.
The Margot bar may be Czech but it was not the best! Tasted of coconuts and a mix of almond or marzipan....Cam googled it to see what was in it & reviews said do not buy...it tastes like alcohol gone off. So we saved some for Nick to try later...haha.
Our flight was 25 minutes late leaving. Most people started lining up way before boarding time, & it looked impossible to fit everyone on the plane. Boarding was chaotic but we all got on. There was someone in one of our seats which was a bit alarming, but he moved (obviously misread his seat number).
The flight was only 1 1/2 hours so we only got a drink & some biscuits. I very much enjoyed my red wine though...even if it was a bit chilled.
The flight was smooth but the landing was more reminiscent of Wellington. Saw a few people gripping the seats in front of them but I was fairly relaxed thanks to the wine & worse landings in Wellington.
We landed in a rainy Paris - the first rain  of our trip. Then had over half an hour waiting for luggage - everyone was looking a bit frustrated.
We had a smooth transition this time to the Air France bus taking us to Port Maillot , but awful traffic jams meant we moved at a crawl and what took 45 minutes last time took well over an hour. As a result we arrived at our hotel at nearly 9pm & couldn't be bothered with dinner. Luckily we had peanuts in our bag, an espresso machine in our hotel room, & a chocolate each on our pillow.
We have an enormous bathroom at this hotel...
It's actually bigger than it looks in the photo. There is also a full length mirror in the bathroom that makes you look slightly skinnier than you really are...could do with one of those at home!
The bedroom is pretty compact though. Wish we had more time here as it looks like a cool hotel, but very much looking forward to Lyon. My internet research so far shows plenty to do & apparently the food is incredible.
Nick got home from uni at 10pm so we showed him our trendy hotel room, gave him a jacket we had bought him & some sox, scarf & hat with Spurs on them from our time in London. I was going to give him these on his birthday, but we are travelling so light we won't have room for them. Then we lugged our big bag in the rain to store in his flat & gave him a small bag of washing to do for us tonight. Almost out of undies again. We will have to find a way to dry them when we get to Lyon tomorrow. Can't believe how many days we can wear our clothes & sox. When you are always wearing jackets you don't notice that we keep wearing the same clothes....and they don't seem to get smelly ...yes I've done the sniff test.  We are leaving tomorrow for a week away & only have 2 changes of clothes with us. I did see on a map that there is a large shopping mall nearby though...just in case we run out of things to do.
